Ervin Barfuss

Ervin Barfuss, 80, Lisbon, formerly Leonard, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 in St. Catherine’s Living Center, Wahpeton. The funeral is Friday, May 1, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Leonard.

Burial is in Watson Cemetery, rural Leonard.

Margaret Heglie

Margaret Heglie, 90, Walcott, died Saturday in the Hillsboro Medical Center, Hillsboro. The funeral will be Friday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m. in the Kindred Lutheran Church, Kindred.

Jeannette Stringer

Jeannette M. Stringer, 79, of Tower City, died Wednesday March 25, 2009 in Mercy Hospital, Valley City. The funeral services was held Saturday, March 28 in the First Presbyterian Church, Tower City.      Interment is in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City later in the spring.

Ernest Gauffin

Ernest N. Gauffin, 88, Fargo, died Tuesday, March 24, 2009 after a long battle with cancer at MeritCare Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Fargo. The funeral was held on Friday, March 27 in Elim Lutheran Church Fargo.  Burial is in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Irene Rieger

Irene K. Rieger, 90, formally of Walcott, died March 28, 2009, in Lake Region Hospital, Fergus Falls, Minn. The funeral will be Thursday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. in Zion United Methodist Church, rural Walcott.  There will also be visitation one hour before the funeral.
Burial is in Zion United Methodist Cemetery, rural Walcott.

Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn Johnson, 91, Fargo, formerly Casselton, died March 24, 2009 in Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo. The funeral will be Saturday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorhead, Minn.
Burial is in Casselton Cemetery, Casselton.

Jacob Hauser

Jacob “Jay” Hauser, 43, Casselton, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in the comfort of his home, after a year and a half battle with cancer. Funeral Mass was held  Monday, March 30 in St. Leo’s Catholic Church, Casselton. Burial is in St. Leo’s Cemetery, Casselton.

Paul McIntyre

Paul Raymond McIntyre, 65, Strasburg, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009, in Mobridge, S.D. A memorial service will be held  Thursday, April 2  at 11:00 a.m. in West Funeral Home, West Fargo.

Claire Richards

Claire Richards, 86, Perham, Minn., formerly Leonard, N.D., died Friday, March 27, 2009 at Autumn Manor , Perham.
Claire Johnson was born November 25, 1922, in Christine, N.D. to John and Esther (Johnsgard) Johnson where she grew up and attended school. In 1943, she married Clark N. Richards and they moved to Leonard, N.D., in 1946. They lived in Leonard until moving to Perham, in 2002. Clark died in 2003. Claire continued to live in Perham and for the last three years in the care of the angels at Autumn Manor.
Claire was a member of Leonard Lutheran Church. She had a great love for flowers, knitting, sewing, cooking, baking and sharing her creativity with family and friends. Claire was a wonderful wife and loving mother. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought great joy to her life. We will miss her greatly.
