Senator Gary A. Lee, rural Casselton, has announced his decision to run for re-election.

Lee will seek the Republican endorsement for re-election to the ND Senate at the District 22 Republican Endorsement Convention scheduled March 25th in Casselton.

A member of the ND Senate since 2001, Senator Lee serves in key leadership roles important to North Dakota and District 22.  He is the Chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee and a member of the Senate Education Committee. He has served two previous sessions as Vice-Chairman of Education and two sessions on the Committee for Political Sub-divisions. 

During the Interim, Lee serves on the Committees for Transportation, Education and is the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Public Safety. Senator Lee also represents ND on the Education Commission of The States and the Multi-State Highway Transportation Agreement.

In addition to his legislative responsibilities, Lee has 35 years of public service experience locally. He continues to serve as a Director on the Cass Rural Water District Board and previously served on the Casselton City Council, the Central Cass School Board, the Cass County School Reorganization Board and the Durbin Township Board.

Senator Lee is a Casselton native, an NDSU graduate, and served as an Army Medical Corpsman in Vietnam. Professionally, he is Service Manager at the Sleep Disorders Center for the MeritCare Health Systems. Gary and is wife Joan are the parents of two grown children.

The District 22 Republican Convention will be held in the Central Cass School Media Center at 7:00 p.m.
